Ok.
3 images for Steve's Birthday (eekdog). You can comment on each, or just the last. (Either way is fine...)
---------
I don't do 3D; so, instead, I tried to capture the spirit of Steve's art. I.e.:
- his incredible use of color
- his incredible use of contrast
- his delicious way with the macabre
- his delicious way with retro
- his wonderful musicians
- his wonderful way with models
- I could go on...
I drew Mick Jagger with a mouse---because my Wacom left me and took the dog, the cat, my lawn furniture, and 3 cases of aged Scotch.( I don't drink Scotch, but stay with me...)
The photo is mine, near home. See? I have some pretty macabre places too!
Finally, the colors are my attempt to imitate Steve's. If you wanna know how good he is with color, try and imitate him. Go ahead. I dare ya...
Hope you enjoy!!!
Onto number 2...

not sure if I'd walk down Jagger Alley, but if Steve was waiting in that car, I just might. nice work especially on the portrait!

A very dangerous place, I fear!

I could recognize your pictures among 1000. This is so very beautiful and makes a simple alley look like a million :)

A walk down Jagger's Alley after dark is an invitation for disaster, as suggested in this stark photograph with the glaring lights and bluish atmosphere. Scary at best. The vehicle at the end of the alley is either a police car or mobsters out to get you. And, although I'm often tempted, I will not attempt to emulate Steve's extensive list of artistic devices. That said, Happy Birthday!

You drew Jagger with a MOUSE?????
I don't think I could capture him that well with my Cintique!
A really outstanding image and birthday image for a good friend and awesome artist. Steve does have his own unique style, and his talent for color and composition is top drawer all the way.

Outstanding atmosphere here which maximizes the eerie factor. Reminds me of John Carpenter’s 1983 movie Christine. It tells the story of a demon-possessed 1958 Plymouth Fury. A great dedication for Steve.

I imagine you jumping out to take this picture, then grabbing your camera and rolling out of the way of the oncoming car! Very action, very Hollywood. Terrific piece! Love the Jagger. A mouse? Seriously?

What's that quote...something about, "imitation being the sincerest form of flattery"...? Quite a beautiful piece of work for Steve's BDay. If I were in that alley I'd expect the car to confront me, the door to swing open and a BIG policeman to step out with one of those three foot long flashlights (well they do look that long), shine it in my eyes and say, "Whatchoodoin'hereboy?" Or maybe with my white beard, he'd say, "Whatchoodoin'heregrandpa?" Anyway, the whole piece makes my imagination run in circles and dance and sing:-)
