Description
I re-did the suit.
I was not happy with the folds
and I wanted to make the suit darker.
Thought it was time to get back
to a serious portrait sketch.
This is my sketch of Herbert Hoover,
circa 1928. It is referenced from a
public domain photograph. No
photographer or artist was noted on
the photo. I used a .3 and .5mm
Mechanical Pencil. The Rose, Gradient
Background and frame were done in PSP7,
with finishing touches in Corel.
Enjoy...Cheryl!

Cheryl this is beautifully done in your very unique style the extra wrinkles in his suit perhaps reflecting something about him?

well done, once again. don't know much about the man (is he relate with J. Edgar Hoover?), and so I take it as a work: from that point of view, is your style. agree also with the above

In my family they would put the picture of Herbert Hoover right next to the one of Ronald Reagan. The similarity is a thriftiness and laissez faire more commonly associated with Calvin Coolidge. Deep in the psyche of America the House of Brugesses and the Continental Congress was "good enough."
