My real name is Thomas McCann, I was born in Buffalo N.Y. in October 1952. I currently reside in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia U.S.A.,........I attended the Maryland School of Art and Design and studied Fine and Commercial art. I began working in traditional media at age 7 (mainly pencil sketches), then worked with watercolors and arcylics in high school. I started working with digital media about 11 years ago (1996), using Metacrations "Detailer", a 3D paint application. I currently use mainly Bryce 6.1 and Cinema 4D 8.1 and 3D Studio Max 4.2 for modeling and tweaks. I am currently learning Rhino and Zbrush. Thanks for your attention.

Fantastic! Two thumbs up! The moment I saw it first I thought it was a Photography gallery... Very photorealistic and the whole scene is very well composed!

You did it with an alphaplane? It really seems to be a photo - exept the 'vueic'-looking hill on the backround.

Whoa, always listen to your wife my friend. :O) The sky is so natural and your ground texture as well. The Cougar is an awesome alpha plane? Excellent job.

The Cat is the only alpha plane,...from the Corel Graphics10 content disc if I remember correctly. Is it me or is it a lot easier to work with picture objects or alpha planes in Vue than in Bryce ? The rendering engine or the lighting ? Thank you all for your generous comments. There are still some small corrections to be made then I'll do a full, large render.

I think you did a fantastic job with this!! The great foreground texture and blurring of the background gives it a realistic look. Also perhaps a flock of birds in sky or an eagle would add a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing the final piece!!

This is great. I think the shadows on the cat match perfectly with the surroundings. This seems the hardest thing to do with alpha planes and other added objects, but this is perfect. The texturing is excellent. Very well done. Oh, yes, Vue has many advantages over Bryce. That's why we love this program. Again, excellent job, and welcome to Vue.

fantastic! I see a shadow under the cats tail, but am not sure what linwhite means about shadows. The trees are very nice.

It takes some getting used to, but it is fairly easy to bring picture planes into Bryce (I'm sure you know this by now) This is an excellent composite!! I was scratching my head trying to figure out how you did the fur ;) The setting is perfect, and believable because you got the lighting to match perfectly!
