Description

Saw a Richard Estes show at the Hirschorn gallery in Washington some time ago and have been trying to get that multi-plane reflection-refraction feel he gets,.......well, sort of, kinda. This should be easy on a computer,....but. What's wrong with this image ? Other than the compisition, lighting and some of the texturing. I just can't seem to get the atmospherics right. I tried using "volumetric world" option,....not an option, the initial pass on "normal" was 12 days, 8 hours !

the only thing I can see wrong in this picture is your brick wall. The bricks look too thin to the left of the window. Other than that, the sidewalk texture is pretty good, and your reflection is awsome.

brholte, missed the shadow, cast by extended window frame. bricks only appear too thin if your not lookin' close enough. THIS, is an awesomely, fantastic, stupendous render!!! I would have called it, "street beat". After all, this is much more than a simple street pic.

I think it looks great! The reflections are perfect! As far as atmosphereics? Bryce has many settings that I am still learning how to use. Susan Kitchens did an excellent book on Bryce 3, amny things still apply. This is an excellent study in light and reflection!
