Description

I was thrilled today to see this in the garden and get some photos for the first time this year. He was around all afternoon but no lady showed up for him. Maybe another day soon!

I love the colors on this fellow. Usually you show us the elongated Duesenberg models but today we get this short-bodied sports model. First rate.

(I haven't seen the name "Duesenberg" in about 2000 years!) Luminous and bold, and yeah, with Mark, squat and ready to plunge forward. You caught the near-denim look of its tail (with yellow, etc). And those stained glass wings, and how transparent they are, over the stalk. You have an immediate eye for these shots, the juxtaposition of the compact body of the insect with that long sleek stalk is striking. A beautiful shot.
