Orange In Rainbow Park by KatesFriend

I had sooooooooooooooooooooooo hoped that this piece would have had a serendipitous double meaning from a political context. As it is, my home has just been handed over to the one per cent for the next four plus (4+) years (that's at least 1461 days) in the name of cheap beer. Well, I have the consolation and comic relief of knowing that our premier-designate is already being sued by his own family. As James Comey might say, "no honour among thieves".
Often, when I am too busy saving the world (and failing, but still trying) or when inspiration fails me or both, I will go in for a technical challenge. Thus I decided to return to Rainbow Park as in 'Bethany In The Park', and improve my game a little. Park scenes are difficult in Vue. For example, native texturing does not create a realistic field of grass, especially within the foreground of a rendering. You can cover this with grass patches in the form of an ecosystem, however even dynamic population will generate hundreds of thousands of instances which will crash your seven (7) year old Windows 7 PC. My solution, the more realistic grass patches are only needed in the foreground, points in the distance could pass with grass texturing - sic aiunt. To that end, I utilized the "Distance To Camera" input node to customize the variable density function of the grass ecosystem layer - a mouthful but it works. Grass density was set to a high level such as eighty-eight (88) percent. But then I enabled variable density for the layer and customized the variable density function to decrease density further from the camera. The "Distance to Camera" input node was connected to (became the x value of) a parabolic filter node (ax2 + bx + c) - though I only used it as a linear function (a=0). The constant was set to one (c=1) so density at the camera would be that which was previously set - 88%. The linear scaler was set to a negative value (b=-0.075 in this case) to cause density to decrease as distance from the camera (x) increased. So, ecosystem instances of the grass patch peter out as they become small on screen. The grass texturing takes over at this point, though colour matching admittedly still needs a little work. I like to think I was being terribly clever. As always, thanks for viewing and sorry, no nudity. Cheers!

Nice calm park setting, I agree with Mike.

Very, very lovely...Do like the warm hues/tones and how you've situated the gal. She certainly has a definitive air of confidence...something all of us in N. America must retain--we must rid ourselves of the current blight that has infected our countries (will have to see if Mexico falls victims to this disease). The orange virus of the US will hopefully self-immolate and concurrently take down all of it supporters. Hard to believe that your country folk didn't learn from the last Ford mess...but it is up to the citizens to push hard against these evils and to educate others how dangerous these monstrosities are to civil order and democracy. Silence=Death.

A most wonderful and cheerful image my friend!
If you follow the story of how Palpatine came to power in the Star Wars series, there are a lot of co-relations with our current....'leadership' (and I use the term very loosely...). It's truly scary.

Depending what version of Vue you are using it can be a beast on any system when you start playing with ecosystems, lol. Crashed many a render trying to push the poly's to the max. She reminds me of Thelma from Scooby Doo for some reason...

Very nice Image!!!

Nice Vue work. I always struggled with crashes on my system same trying to render any heavyweight polys. Great job on those warm tones in the scene.
