I remember the beach... it's hard to be stuck inside all the time but Mom doesn't go out much.
(I've been called to Jury Duty for the 7th time... I'm hoping that being a full time caregiver can get me excused this time.)

She looks right at home--lovely scene you've created :) Regarding jury duty--it seems once they get you, they will call you every time they are able to do so...bring a docto's note with you stating you are your mother's caregiver, etc. Hope it works :)

you have such a special gallery, Barb, in the way you create these intimate scenes that nevertheless have so much going on in them. I love this exotic dancer-type lady, looking almost like a figure from Gaugin, I love her coloring and her near purple hair, and your pose for her---in the midst of a dance step, while kneeling on the ground. And the contrast of that bright beach ball---great choice, because of the saturated reds and blues and greens, etc. Wonderful contrast. And that gull just watching her, unperturbed. And those very tactile stones on the beach, the water behind, and the gulls flying overhead, with a lighthouse and boat in the distance, etc. I'm waiting for the rhythms of a Tahitian ensemble to pipe in, as she does what almost looks like a belly dance (which is middle eastern, but hey!) Love her accouterments too, with those pearls and other things around her neck. Very open and peaceful image, with a great pose in the woman. I'm terribly sorry you have to stay in so much because of your mother's health. And I also hope you could get out of jury duty. Full time caregiving should get you off, as a no-brainer. I think it's cruel if it doesn't. (People get off of jury duty for all kinds of crazy reasons; I really hope it worked out for you. You deserve that...) Terrific image.
