I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!

Took me a second to realize you considered the Dragon Fly as Nature's drone, I call them flying twigs. Nice shot.

Great capture of the "drones." Good eye sight to discern the dragonfly...Looks like fun and sounds like it has somewhat the same technology that Musk's rockets use to deliver the booster rockets back to earth--just a guess...
RodS
The basic technologies are quite similar - use GPS to get within a few feet of the desired landing target, then downward-looking cameras to identify features on the ground stored in the memory of the Falcon 9 booster or Mavic drone. Of course the Falcon's systems are much much more robust. A 4-pound drone is one thing - a several thousand pound rocket full of explosive fuel is quite another!
It still amazes me watching those two Falcon Heavy boosters landing at the same time at KSC. It's like something out of Star Wars.

Cool to find a dragonfly in your capture !

Awesome! Sometimes you just have to stop looking to get what you want.
Faemike55
outstanding capture, Rod. total serendipity! Looking forward to your other pictures

Dragon fly? I thought first another drone interfering with yours, then guessed an air plane. And then you come with the dragon fly. Hmmm... maybe it was a pterydactyl. You know, we're back in that dino season again! Keep up the good work! :-)

For a second there I thought it was a UFO... but then again that wouldn't be to surprising... great capture!

Well, July 2 was 'World UFO Day...' ð Of course the drone was flying on June 27th! LOL

That's amazing! Great shot!

Great steady hand in this shot of your drone. Is it camera equipped? Unless I used my variable LCD monitor to zero in on it I would have fallen over backwards.

Yup, right now nature is making smaller drones, but they don't have cameras as of yet!

That's great! When I zoom I can make out the insect outline. Funny how pictures come out sometimes.

Yes an Alien Drone was spying on you. We are watching. Ever since you human's got wise to our presence. Flying around at night in our strange crafts with our lights on not wanting to be seen (I told the others it was a bad idea and that no, we would not just blend it, with the rest of air traffic - but would listen?) At least they have taken my advice on using the drones now. Can't tell one from another. Your, ours, theirs. Those pesky Centurions. I wish they would find a new vacation spot. We came holidaying here first.

Hah! Mulder was right - the truth IS out there! ð

where do you get these wonderful toys
RodS
Pretty much any hobby store has them, Best Buy, Microcenter, or directly from DJI (www.DJI.com). If you want a Mavic, you might want to wait a couple weeks. DJI is coming out with a new version that has even more whistles and bells. ðĪŠ
