Sunflower Serenade
I spy you with my artist’s eye,
Your sunny faces, stretching high
While high above the seabirds cry,
With soft surf sigh, with soft surf sigh.
Your stems bow gently to the breeze,
Your gold heads bob with subtle ease,
As you face boldly to the seas,
I feel at ease, I feel at ease.
As waves roll splashing to the shore.
I’d love to be a bird, and soar
Above this ocean I adore,
Forevermore, forevermore.
I paint the clouds a misty grey,
Bewitched by nature’s fresh ballet,
Tempted by sunflower’s bright display,
I start to play, I start to play.
My painting now a memory
Of halcyon days beside the sea,
I love her graceful harmony
It’s ecstasy, it’s ecstasy!
