This is wonderful work and an important message...no wonder the oceans' inhabitants are enraged...we are killing our oceans and all their denizens through over-fishing, herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers and too many other pollutants to name...not only is ocean life endangered, if the oceans die that's it for the rest of the planet...apparently Orcas are dying in large numbers in the northern Pacific--very, very depressing. Not enough food for them and perhaps disease--some countries (namely, China) are raping the oceans...and don't even get me started on all the plastic, fishing nets and other crap floating in the oceans ;( And people keep voting for ugly, denying monsters like our orange low life who in turn surround themselves with ugly monsters (e.g. Pruitt). Just have to read the comments for your image--folks don't get it and or they just don't seem to care. OK, I'm off my soap box :)

A great image with an important message. Well done!

The oceans are big but not endless. Once the food chain in the sea crashes that's it, people on land will be starving by the millions. Sorry, no more fish and chips. We could use a few giant kraken's to sink all the fishing boats, but then again, we would probably just eat the kraken's too... :(
Cool image B-Po...

Heck knows someone needs to be protecting our oceans, nobody is doing it now, or at least not a very good job.

I hope things are going well with you, with your difficult act of daily caretaking, Barb. And I hope the summer is bringing you some relief (N.England is particularly temperate in the summer. Or at least it was when I was there.) Your image is very dramatic--exactly what you wanted with your title---as you've created a maelstrom of water, octopus tentacles (and great suction cups), and of course Neptune and the female (I don't remember enough about mythology to know who she is), and the leaping dolphin. One of your more maelstrom-y images, very effective, and the stormy waters don't in any way obliterate the god and goddess who protect them. (And who stir and motivate them.) I also really like the misty sky behind them, like it's made of water and silk. Powerful piece, Barb. With our current leaders, it's an important bell to ring, an important warning. I send hugs and wishes for your rest and well being, and hope the summer is treating you with deserved peace and kindness.
