a blast of deep reds, and an eye popping meeting. I saw this when it went up and I was dazzled. The concept of a great regal ultra-red fish, with that exquisite tail (a fish's version of an open peacock's tail) meeting a mermaid, whose hair and torso is equally deep bright red---it's right out of a fairy tale. This is what you do in these mixed medium pieces: You create scenes that seem like you've illustrated a great folktale---only we only see the visual, and we surmise the tale from that. These visuals are compact tales, packed with meetings and confrontations and conflicts and resolutions and all kinds of mysteries and magic, all brought together in a single snapshot. It's amazing how fertile and vivid your inner eye and soul are, even when you're giving so much of yourself to caretaking. I wish you could do this all the time. A beautiful image; and the pink of the mermaid's tails (her fins?) is a beautiful contrast with all that red, as is the luminous green of the plants, and the deep black of the background. (And the dots of bubles and stars in the water.) Your upload gives EXIF data, and all I can think is: Where in the world did you photograph this??? (I know, you didn't photograph the image, though you used photographs in it...) I lived in Massachusetts but I never saw a sight like this, not in the atlantic, the cape, or any of its rivers. Maybe that fish was flying in the air! Beautiful piece of art and imagination.
