Description

Probably the finest example of pure SciFi was Kubrick's 2001. The film's climax was so surreal, it leaves a lasting impression. In the film, Kubrick showed the Pod come to rest in an ornate hotel suite. The alien presence that transported Bowman drew this place from one of his memories. In this piece, I wanted to show Dave Bowman's Pod land in a place drawn from another memory. This time, I chose Yosemite as a venue along with his teacher/friend/nemesis: The Monolith. HDR ProSets Yosemite Pack Two by Daz Originals and DimensionTheory. Monolith prop modeled in Hexagon by myself. I try very hard to give credit to prop artists. If I am in error regarding any prop, please contact me and I will correct it. Thanks!

A phantastic interpretation of a iconic movie which I saw as child and decades later again as an adult…

…and which surreality and message I still don't understand fully 😆
