Description

So my creative efforts are being put to use in other avenues for the last few weeks. That and planing my vacation (first in quite some time) and the return of the lawyers has been keeping me away. So I decided to post this prequel I rendered for 'My Friends Call Me Gwen just to remind everyone that I am still alive. I have revised it somewhat from how it was originally rendered. For example, I implemented indirect lighting which was not available in Poser back then. There is a wider aspect ratio (my old monitor had a picture tube still) and a much lower shading rate. For closeups, if you want finer shading you do have to update the minimum shading rate of the object (head, neck, etc. in object properties) as well as the minimum shading rate in render settings. In the same vein, you can set smooth polygons in the render settings but then exclude specific objects which can not be rendered that way. I only wished that I had noticed these options ages ago. Sorry, no nudity. Have a great week everyone. Cheers!

Hi Clayton -- nice to see you :) Your render is so wonderful...the lighting (and reflection) couldn't be better. I have never done an object shading rate -- will have to look into that, but obviously it does improve the render quality. I have been diddling with DS--still not sold on the proggie--Poser really is a much better program, just wish it would read the stupid DS file formats--DSON is horrific. Have a wonderful vacation and thanks for the "no nudity." LOL.

Interesting that you chose to go back to an old render and try it again with more recent Poser iteration, and a better rig I suppose. I love doing that too. For some reason, I've kept all my original Poser scene files. I know, I know, the storage! It's a lot of fun to go back and either re-render or re-imagine some of my favorites with tweaks and fresh shaders, like you've done here, with spectacular results. Full kudos on this one my friend. 5+

this is a wonderful scene. Perhaps I should look at some of my older renders and redo them with 4.11?
