Description
It was built in the 13th century by a family of lords from the town of Escoussans: the "Seguin d'Escoussans". This commune is located about 10km southeast of Langoiran. Before their installation in the castle of Langoiran, the Seguin d'Escoussans were milites (the equivalent of knights) and vassal lords at the court of the lords of Benauges. The Seguins remained the lords of Langoiran until their alliance with the Albret family in 1345.
