After Romatzo woke up from his coma, Minalva was so happy, she even cried. Romatzo was awake, but he still needed to rest to fully recovered. As well as Minalva who had almost never left his side. But now that they all are alright they need to talk about what happened. " My friends, said Delphine without preamble, I think we are in deep trouble. Somebody or something is clearly after us. Because demons do not appear like that without reasons! But first lets talk about what happened after the battle, Romatzo being unconscious. When I came back, with the city guards, to the place of the attack, the bodies of the creatures had all disappeared. For that, I'm pretty sure they were invocated. There is also the small possibility that the corpses have been taken away during our absence, but I doubt about it, no other traces have been found there except ours. We took a day, later, with Marina, while you were both still in convalescence to try to find some physical or magical traces from the invocator. But none us have been able to find anything. For the physical traces, maybe if Minalva had been with us, she would has find something. But you weren't in condition to follow us at the moment Mina. And now with the rain of these few days, the remaining traces, if there were any to begin with, must have gone. Anyway, For our discussions, we suppose there were at least 10 creatures. Which mean that only a powerful sorcerer has been able to do that. There is also the possibilities that it had been done by several mages combining their powers. But no matter the solution, it was made by powerful people. No amateur or apprentice is capable of doing that. I am not capable to doing that." While saying this last sentence, she thought that only the most powerful wizards could invocated living being, and demonic creatures were some of the most difficult to summon. At the moment, a glance of fear could be seen in the eyes of Delphine. She added, "The fact I haven't been able to find residual magic means that the invocator was far away, which proves even more the extent of its or their powers. - This is not reassuring what you say. said Romatzo trying to smile." A heavy silence fell on our group for long seconds. " What did you propose ? added coldly Minalva, breaking the silence. - We need help, we really can't deal with it ourself. We all survived last time, but it was close, and nothing indicate we will have the same chance the next time." Respond Delphine. "There is only two places where we can find help needed to our situation. The College of Magic and The Guild of Adventurers. We are closest to the second, which is good, because even if the College had been closer, I would have proposed the Guild anyway, because it's the home of the most powerful beings of the world. - It's the nearest choice, but it's still at one week from here, and at the condition we travel at a fast pace. Said Marina. - Do you think we will encounter these creatures again during the journey ? asked Minalva to Delphine. - I'm almost certain that will happen." Delphine saw Minalva becoming paler and refraining a shiver, to the idea to fight the creatures again. Minalva has been the more affected by the encounter, and Delphine know that if she understand intellectualy the nature of the creatures, Minalva felt what they were with her all being. Because of that she doubted of the capacities of her friend to fight the demons when they'll reappeared. "When do we leave ? said Romatzo, not noticing the anxiety of her friend next to him. - Tomorrow morning, at the first hour of dawn will be the best. Responded Marina. - It would be dangerous for the people of the town if we stayed any longer. Demonists aren't known to care about innocent people. The more we stay, more the danger of an attack while we are here raise. -I think we will all agree, while traveling, we'll now wearing our fighting gear all the time to be prepare in case of an attack." Added Marina... The reunion continued for a while, the four planning their travel to the Guild of Adventurers. After the meeting Delphine asked to Minalva to stay a little with her, and when the others were gone, she asked to her friend how she was. Minalva was watching and passing her fingers on the three big scars, left by one of the demons, on her right thigh. "I'm okay." she responded with a blank tone. And Delphine to continue, "I can only imagine what you saw and felt when the demons were to the point to kill you and Romatzo, that's why I have to ask. If or I should say, when a new encounter will happen, would you be able to fight ?". Minalva looked straight in the eyes of Delphine and responded "I will." but this time the tone was not blank. The determination of her voice and the flame in her eyes convinced Delphine it was the truth. Delphine put a hand on her friend's shoulder. Minalva took the hand and the two friends exchenged a smile. Then they both left the room quietly, going to prepare their gear and sleeping. The night will be short, because tomorrow they left to travel to the Guild of Adventurers. ______________________________________________________________________________________ First thanks for looking and also if you have read the story. The story being long, I will try to not ranting too much here. :D It was nice to make a new scene continuing the story, it's been a little while since the last one. It's the first time I really make talk my characters, so I hope the dialogues feels natural. The picture following this one is already made, but the text is not written yet. In fact the next one was made before, but I felt it needed another picture before, to make the transition with the last one I had posted.
