Description

A usurper? A murderer? A thief? A warmonger? Such epithets are puerile when levelled at a god. I killed our father out of need, a need for a strong leader. The priests... they had to die, they refuted my claim. What is the temple's is surely mine by right of ascension? As for the Hittite traders, they were here to spy, not engage in trade. Don't you see? We need to reclaim our lands. What I did I did for Egypt, not for myself. You cogitate sister. Then cogitate on the fact you stand at a dangerous crossroads. Give me to that vengeful mob and you diminish our status as gods. We must stand firm. Rulers don't rule through appeasement. Besides, you're a woman. What makes you think they'll let you rule in my stead? Defy them. Let them clamour. They are angry out of old jealousies, poor out of indolence, illiterate due to idleness, and cursed at birth. You and I, sister, are different. We are gods. We should live as gods, not pander to the wishes of the mob. Justice they cry! Ha! How can gods be judged by men? Let me live... I can help you. You can be my wife. Sit at my side and have babies. Alright then! You can rule if you wish. It isn't that grand anyway. Too much management... and talking... and conciliation. Well? A phenomenal case study in how to combine and present the overt and the subtle. And as always, the lighting, here flawless and superb, is what elevates this from a run-of-the-mill scene to grand imagery. An outstanding and compelling backstory leaves nothing else to say except...Bravo !!
