Marina was the first to regain consciousness. Half awake, she did not remembered what happened. She opened her eyes, a bright light blinded her. It was only the sun actually, but its strong light bring back things to her memory. The mist, the gigantic demon, Minalva tetanised and her protecting her elf friend with her shield, her feeling that all were lost. And... Delphine jumping in front of them ? Things were still a little blurry in her mind. But yes, the bright light, it came from her staff. She remembered it now, Delphine did jumped in front of them casting a powerful spell. Delphine was yelling while the light was expanding, then the creature started to scream too, a scream she'll never forget. And then, nothing. Marina raised on one arm. She first saw Minalva still unconscious near her. Shaking her gently, Minalva woke up slowly. Then Marina heard Romatzo whimpering and saw him sat, shaking his head to regain his mind. Marina eyes wandered around them until she found her remaining friends. "Delphine!" she yelled, seeing her friend pale, unconscious and her broken staff near to her. Marina stood up, her was legs weak, and approached Delpine as fast as she can. Taking her in her arms, Marina took off one of her gloves and touched the face of Delphine with her naked hand. She was warm. She also felt the blood circulating in the aorte of her neck, it was weak but it was pumping in a regular way. Minalva and Romatzo were now at their side, worried. "She is alright. said Marina to her friends in a relieved smile. - Is she transportable ? asked Romatzo after a moment of silence. - Probably. responded Marina. Do you feel strong enough to transport her. - I'm afraid not." said Romatzo with a smile. His right hand, still fermelly grip on his axe, was shaking uncontrollably. "Me neither." Responded Marina. They both looked at Minalva, who responded to their silent question by moving her head in a negative way. Their bodies were fine actually, but their mental strength and nerves had been drained by their horrid encounter. "We'll camp here, then. said Marina sighing. I'm not magician, but to be capable to summon that... thing, put probably, the one who did it, in the same shape than her. "-I hope.-" she added in thought. Romatzo ? Do you feel capable to make a fire ? Delphine need to be warm up. - I think I'm okay. I go find some wood. - I come with you." said Minalva. The two stood up and left, walking not very straight due to their weakness. Meanwhile Marina reaching to their travel bag, took a blanket in it and covered Delphine with it, and she used her legs as a coussin for the head of her friend. She looked at the sky, seeing the night will be there soon. ____________________________________________________ At first, the aftermath of "Deus ex Delphina" should have lead to a 5th member joining the group, an asian woman named Akiko. But it would have also complicated more the story, so I decided to not included her. I have the tendency to create too much plot, so I need to stay focus with what I got. I have really hesitated to include her, that's actually one of the reason why it took a long to me to do "Deus ex Delphina". That does not mean you'll never see Akiko, but that will be in another circumstances. I said in the precedent picture that I'll explain how Delphine vanquished the demon, but I prefer end the story on her being still unconscious. But I'll explain it in a next picture, probably the following one. I don't know when the next will be, because my father asked me to create something for him, so I will do that first.
