though I was absent, I saw all of these when they went up, and I was sorry not more people looked or commented---these truly deserve attention. I really like this because of the heavy and fast feel to your strokes---again you are attuned to the smeary side of oil pastels. And the sculpted division of the face into two halves. Love the heavy application of reddish pinks, and the lighter melange of pale hues on the right side (allowing the strokes to speak). And the seeming 'floating eyes'---they're so intense and yet seem unrooted to the face. And you surround her with a deep, almost dull gold yellow, which is such an earthen color. Guts and earthiness in this...a powerful flush-forward drawing/painting of a young woman's face.
