This picture follow this one : Omdeo 02 (https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/omdeo-02/2841362/?p) They entered into the Fortress, following Omdeo. The only thing they saw at first was a long corridor. Despite the absence of windows the place was well lit. The light was coming from torches, but it wasn't from flames that the lights were coming, but from some kind of ethereal spheres. This corridor was full of life, with people entering and exiting doors scattered across the hallway or simply passing through it. People were busy, but they always stopped and bow when crossing the way of Omdeo. The end of the corridor was opening on a big square hall at the middle of the fortress. Four staircases were leading to the superior floors. But Omdeo did not lead the group to the stairs. Instead he stopped at the middle of the hall, where a great circle was carved into the rocky ground. When they all joined him at the middle, he said "To the last floor." And to the surprise of three of the four companions, Delphine being used to that kind of transportation, the circle of stone started to raise to the superior floors. Arrived to the last floor, the ground stopped and Omdeo resumed his march. Minalva, Marina, and Romatzo were relieved and happy to leave this flying rock circle. They took another corridor. Finally, Omdeo stopped in front of a door, and opening it, he invited them to enter and to take a sit. It was lit by what first looked like as windows, but in fact it was false ones, lit by the same ethereal lights than the ones in the corridors. It was strange because the light seemed very natural. Omdeo sat in the last remaining chair and said, " So, now tell me your story." So Delphine explained everything that happened to them, starting with the finding of the Egg of Gornhoth. Marina and Romatzo looked at each other, not understanding why she started by that, because it happened long before the first encounter with demons. They looked then at Minalva to see if she was perplexed like them. But they found the face of their friend very serious even worried, her eyes looking at the void, and she even looked paler. Delphine seemed to notice Minalva's face too, but she continued her story like nothing. Omdeo listened quietly, only speaking when he judged than more informations were needed. "And then we arrived to The Guild and met you. Ended Delphine. -So..., said Omdeo after a moment and caressing his beard, what you said is really worrying." Followed by another moment of silence. "But I'll start by the good sides. The fact you survived all to these attacks is really amazing! Few would have done the same. And I must say that what you did, Delphine, to expel that Demon Lord was impressive. I'm proud of you." The face of Delphine became red as her hat by that compliment given to her by the greatest magician alive. " And Minalva, he continued, if you desire it, I can heal your scars on your leg. - You'll do that for me ? She asked recomposing and full of hope. - Of course. And for all the more reason that if your mother learns that I saw you and did not took care of these cicatrices, I will be in trouble. Ha ha ha ! - You know my mother ?! asked Minalva, her eyes blinking of surprise. - Oh, yes. Your mother is young, but she is one the most powerful druid I ever met." It was really weird for Minalva to hear that. Not that her mother was powerful, but that a human call her young. Of course she was young for an elf, nothing than a little more of a hundred of years, but hearing a human say that was baffling. She remembered of rumors saying that Omdeo was more than 300 years old, some said it was even closer to 400. Only another elf could confirm that, or maybe very old dwarves, but no human for sure. And Omdeo speaking now at Romatzo said : "I'll auscultate your head too, young Romatzo, to be sure you'll have no sequel to your injury on your head. Even if dwarf have a thick head. He laugh again. - I sincerely thank you for that, Master Omdeo." Respond Romatzo, bowing his head. "But now, lets talk of worrying things, starting with the Egg of Gornhoth. Said Omdeo, scowling. I suppose you started with it, Delphine, It's because you think it's link to all your problems." She nodded. And Minalva became paler again. Marina and Romatzo were troubled and agape by that revelation. Of course it happened not so long ago, two months at best, but so much things happened in between that, that they kind of forgot about it. And it suddenly hit them why Minalva looked so worried and pale. Because if it was linked, demons could have appeared while they were in her tribe. Surprising them all. Them, her friends, and her family. Unarmed. It would have been a slaughter. Omdeo understing that too, placed a hand on ones of Minalva in a reconforting gesture. Romatzo and Marina had questions, but Omdeo didn't let them the time to posing them by starting to speak again. " I think you are right, Delphine, for the simple reason that the Egg of Gornhoth you found and bring to one of our stewardship, never came to here. - What do you mean ? The Egg has been stolen while traveling to here ? she asked incredulous. - I mean that before you talk to me about it, I was not even aware of it being found or of it supposedly being in one of our stewardship." Delphine was stunned. "But wh... how..." She couldn't find her words. "I intent to discover it. As soon as we'll finish here." says he, a slight of angryness in his voice. "Despite that problem, he continued with cooler tone, it's still a supposition that the attacks on you were in relation with the Egg. But I think I can easily fix that. If I show a map of the region where you found the Egg, do you think one of you could indicate the area of this cave ?" While the others were thinking about it, Minalva responded : "I think I can do it." _____________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching and reading. The text is very long here. It's even so long that it's not the entire text, I divided it and created another picture especially to transfer the other part to it, part that I haven't finish to write yet. I think I'll wait a little and I'll transfer the begin of the text of this picture to the precedent one, who have a much shorter story part. The picture was long to render too, 90 hours (in fact it's 60 for the final render, but I made a first one that I relaunched after 30 hours), and it wasn't really over! But if I had let it finish, it would still rendering right now... For once I made some postwork, because being an interior scene, it was very grainy. To a reminder of the Egg of Gornhoth story, please refer to this picture : I think to rewrite the text a little. I think it feels rushed. I must say, for the Egg of Gornhoth, it was first just a random picture. It was planned to eventually have an impact on the story, but I didn't knew when. The scars of Minalva and the head injury of Romatzo refer to the first attack of demons.
