What child is this, who laid to rest on Mary's lap, is sleeping?
Whom Angels Greet with Anthems sweet,
while shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King!
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing!
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
the babe, the son of Mary.

(This was originally an 80mb file...I have labored for weeks, and just finished this morning. I am trying to convey what I see when I sing at Midnight Mass in a gothic cathedral)

this is outstanding Syyd, soft, beautiful, yet dramatic. A modern Mary indeed as Neverenuff says, but at the same time it is like a painting, or a classic virgin statue in the window of an old catholic cathedral. This one is print material.

Beautifully done! The lighting, poses, expressions, choices of color -- everything. Would dearly love to watch how you put all these elements together, especially considering that this was an 80 meg file... and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

Thank you all so so much....Aprilgem, this was one of the hardest pieces of work for me..jigging it at that size cost my machine a few crashes, thank god I saved, I had to save and purge continually. I added the lights in poser to give me great shadow and depth on the models,(something I need because I layer so much) and then into Photoshop, I used lighting effects and I must have added so many lights I stopped counting. Illuminating the windows was very hard to do, because one small move the wrong way and there were spotlight circles all over the place. Perhaps Santa would find me a 1ghz processor, some major RAM, and an Elsa or Oxygen 64 Graphics Card!

Oh my God, I wish I would not get sleep so early yesterday. Sister this is the best and most spiritual piece of work I have ever seen in my LIFE. A beautiful interpretation of a religious theme. You also managed to avoid the trap of being overly sentimental by giving Mary a non-virginal look. Total brilliance! The only suggestion I would make is the left arm on the Christ child looks slightly weird. Have you thought of using it to expose one of her breasts?
