Description

Like Van Gogh, wrestling love for immortality, Rorschach Butterfly in print impatiently awaits death, Then, only then, what remains will be seen.... ( Poetry by Syyd Raven) Experimental Phase/Freewebcam/Photoshop Wrote this poem many months ago, when I realized that the last years work, all my surreal experimentations could not be printed well, because I had only been saving at 72DPI. I vowed to never work again in this style, and went into a serious depression. Now I feel an urge to go back to it. I think this is the first step toward it. I am not comfortable having my picture taken either, and somehow the poem, and the photographs Colm took, seem to gel into the idea of moving back into the circle. Its like trying to get back into my own skin, in two different ways. Pure Experimentation

Hi Syyd. I see where the inspiration for your beautiful eye textures come from. It's a shame about the res on your surreal work. Damn, now that I think about it, #%@ %$ $#@%. I can see why it is depressing. It would be very hard if not impossible to recreate them at a higher res. I know I've enjoyed them immensely and I look forward to even better ones. This is fantastic work. I see you growing in your art all the time. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Sorry to hear you are not able to print your work. I had the same problem a few years ago so everything that I do and want to save is at 300Dpi.

Hey Syyd..in just about the same time period I went through the same experience...which is partly why I have not been posting much lately...It is a shock!!!...but only a stage in development for all of us learning to use this new form of producing art....the "positive" side is that we can continue to support one another as we all move along and share the expressions from our souls...here on Renderosity..and of course elsewhere..........Seasons Greetings to your family..say Hi to Colm from me...and thanks for everything...................

It amazes me how often an attractive woman is uncomfortable with the camera, my ex girlfriend hated her face on film....she shouldn't have & neither should you Sydd!! Nice work & I wait to see this style developed more (just don't stop you're other work, I & many others would miss it!!)

Incredible, thought-provoking art.... but the real beauty lies in the fact that the artist far exceeds it. Beautiful face.... more beautiful soul.

I wish I had your way with words - and images. I am sorry to hear about your previous works. But your talent and drive and now, inspiration, will always be with you. And while you may not be able to recreate those previous masterpieces, I am certain you will surpass them - for now you not only have your talent to draw from, but that well of emotion that your pain has given you. (as a side note you might want to take them to a printhouse that has a fiery rip process or equivalent - it might surprise you what preprocessing will do for your output!)
