Description
Man, was Kitty a real fighter! Nobody expected her to put up such a fight - teeth and claws. Running behind the kitchen sofa, under the kitchen table, meowling like mad, behind, then underneath the living room table, where I finally caught up with her and grabbed her front legs (unfortunately it had to be roughly, which I definitely did NOT like! Respect!), and talked her down quietly so the ladies could hold the cage door open and push her in. Once inside, Kitty seemed to feel safe, having the cage between herself and the strangers. So, she settled down, somewhat.
I felt very badly about it, like my insides were all jello.

Oh, nooo! This sounds really like a tragedy! Too bad this beautiful cat couldn't stay with you and help to bring you some more joy into your life.... Since I lost my beloved Felix, i always think by my self:"One day - nobody knows when - Will I adopt again a Black and White cat" Wish you luck dear Kitty...!

From what you've described, this had to be done. I feel your pain of the loss, but as you say, she's doing well in the cat home. Stay strong my friend

Aw, man.... I really wish I could be there to give you some support, Michael. Having to do something like this is like losing any other family member, but it sounds like it will be best for both you and your kitty. I do hope she finds peace and happiness there, and you find some solace in knowing she will be happy.
I'm more of a dog guy, but with any pet it can be a real headache as well as a heartache if they aren't happy. And it seems she wasn't. It's also kind of a headache if you want to travel - having to find someone to watch them, or (worse) putting them in a kennel while you're gone. Which is why we don't have any pets.
Hang in there, buddy. I'm sending my best thoughts and prayers your way. Hope things get better in this new year, and you're able to spend more time with us here. Miss your posts, buddy!
