Description
Cutting the rug was very difficult, and so was cutting the rug's mat. To cut the mat I used this bread knife with serrated edge. It cut the mat's fibers rather well crosswise and obliquely and could help prying bunched fibers apart. BUT, BEWARE so you don't cut yourself. This kind of knife makes for very deep and irregular slashing wounds! And can easily slip.
I've included the ruler to show how large the knife is, and the serrations. NOT something you would like to have sticking into your body!

Sweet looking blade! I can well imagine what type of damage that blade would do....

a razor knife is superior for cutting carpet. installers use them all the time

Looks like it would definitely do the job. Interesting edge on that knife. I've got a bread knife in my Wolfgang Puck set, but its serrations are not quite like this one.
I ended up getting a couple carpet knives when I had to cut out the carpet after my flood. They did a pretty good job, but I had to change the blades several times.
