Barb, this is wonderful. It always hits me how you'll do a series of your montages, and then boom! You post one of these. This feels like a tectonic collision, just what your title implies, like two massive sheets of earth---with ice on one and fire in the other---colliding, and causing a major rift and canyon in the earth. I love how one side is in blues and whites (among others) while the other is a deep orange red. Lots of action and movement, you even have the blue layer seeping into the red one, sending its tentacles into the red's cave. And the line between them is a huge ribbon of ice rolling with the punches...A really powerful image; a terrific geologic image. (And your responses to my pieces have been wonderful, Barb, and I thank you deeply for them. They really help me feel it's worthwhile doing and sticking with all that stuff!) Really love this upload. I hope you're having a livable winter, and resting and rejuvenating and staying warm. Your part of the world isn't known for its 'balmy' winters...
