It means a lot to me!
The day started off really well for Ragnor. At breakfast, he killed the jailer with the ladle for porridge. The stupid guy should not have skimpy at Ragnor's hangman's meal.

When he was led to the scaffold, it poured down in torrents. Incidentally, Ragnor did better than the soldiers escorting his prisoner transport. After all, he had a roof over his head and she did not.

Arrived, he was first read an arm-length bill of lading. A thunderstorm broke out meanwhile. The hangman wanted to offer Ragnor a blindfold, but Ragnor refused. However, he did not want to make it easy for the hangman. He struggled for bodily strength.
Guards came to help the hangman to keep Ragnor quiet. Just as the executioner wanted to strike with the sword of justice, lightning struck the sword. All were struck down, except Ragnor, he was burned by the iron shackles. He saw this sign as one of his god Odin. He wanted to flee, but he did not get far. He had to give an answer to the emperor who was present. When Ragnor mentioned that his god helped him, the emperor denied it. There is only one god, said Emperor Ludwig. Well, then it was his God, Ragnor said. That made the Emperor thoughtful. He lifted the death penalty. Instead, Ragnor was to be sold at the Frankfurt Fair as a serf.
Sequel follows.
