Description
This is to remember (In my opinion) one of the finest female singers to come out of Motown. Syreeta Wright. (aka Rita Wright) She was Stevie Wonder's first wife and even though they parted romantically, she was a major contributor to Stevie Wonder's written achievements, with songs like, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "It's A Shame" by the Detroit Spinners as examples; not forgetting Talking Book & Songs in the Key Of Life backing vocals and many other Stevie Wonder recordings and contributions to his written work.
She sadly died, in 2004 and I really had no idea, because I had read that she left show business and went out of the limelight, to spend more time with her Family and I seem to remember, she went back to religion in some varied ways in her later years.
Another singer that affected me upon her death, was Tammi Terrell. who died of a brain tumour apparently. I was only 17 at the time and tunes like "Onion Song", I can't believe You Love Me" "Two Can Have A Party" the list is endless. It took me over two weeks to get over her!
