Description

This neglected barn I saw in our village, almost completely covered with 'green'. Unfortunately there is an iron fence behind, I'm sorry for that. Thank you very much for your view.

I agree with netot and Rod: I love old decayed buildings. This building is overtaken with nature---it's just beautiful. I hope no one destroys it---it's rare to find an old barn like this, completely overtaken by vines and leaves and moss, etc. You left a swath of land on the bottom of your image, which creates "bands" across the image: The barn is the next layer, then the fence, then the trees and sky. And the trees give verticals to balance the very horizontal barn. I love this shot. And what a great old building. You're lucky to see this when you travel...

(Jacomina, maybe you've seen this place before, but if you haven't, here are 3 links to Angkor Wat, in Cambodia. It has some of the most amazing Hindu art in the world---but it ALSO has huge trees growing on top of temples and statues. Here are 3 links. Most of the pics will 'zoom' if you click on them:

Wow !

If only these abandoned barns could talk.

This is a beautiful scene of the past.

Mother Nature has done a wonderful job waking up ones senses to a piece of history.

Thanks for sharing Mies.
