Description

Sean is channeling his inner Cave Man tonight, but Zola doesn’t seem to mind. As long as he doesn’t drop her on the floor, things should work out quite well for them both. Another lighting experiment. I’m still trying to balance getting the mood right with getting enough light so it doesn’t take 4 days to render. I had to turn up the lumens on the emissive plane more then I really wanted and it still went 4 hours and never got to even 50% conversion. I guess I’ll just have to keep experimenting and hope I win the Lottery so I can buy a new graphics card. I told her not to play that "Alley Oop" song when he arrived... Loot at that cave man go!

Indoor lighting can be a royal PITA.... You usually have multiple light sources, all throwing shadows different directions, and trying to balance each individual light with the others to give the figures and props a feeling of form.. You did a really good job on the light here, Teri!

Interiors often take a long time to render, the number of scene lights doesn't matter. I'd say the long render times are coming from skin textures and especially the hair.

Keep in mind the beautiful texturing emissive lights make possible (and so evident in your scene !!) come with a price: increased render time. Especially as the lumens go up. Love the conceptual brilliance.

Tonight I will make a special moment of burnt offerings and sacrifice accompanied by frankincense and myrrh to beseech the graphic gods to send a card your way. :-)
