Description
Ishimoto just got some news that has upset him. Sitting on the deck in the sunshine with a sympathetic buddy is helping, but it may take a while to absorb it all.
I started out playing with the old deck prop, arranging furniture and such, then plopped Ishimoto into the scene and applied this pose. It spoke of sorrow to me and thus the story was born.

I like that you have a situation that's only partly explained (like life itself). He's definitely absorbed in quandaries or difficulties; and I like the blues on him and on the bench, and how they harmonize with the blues of the background. (That porch/balcony---not too shabby a location!!!) And I like how you gently interleave Ishimoto with the dog, by putting his foot between the dog's leg and the dog's head. Nice touch. A sensitive piece, and true to form---Ishimoto is posed as any of us would be, in his situation. And I realize, now, that you use models from all over the globe, ethnically and name-wise. I really like that.
