Description
Something fishy here.
Just one of countless shots I took of the beautiful Blue Cavern, a humongous fish tank located at the dark deep end of the entrance hall of the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California, on 5/26/2011.
Photography was tricky here because of the low light and rapid movement of the fish.

Very cool shot! The zoo in Omaha NE. has a clear tunnel at the bottom of their aquarium you can walk through and see sharks, rays and other creatures swimming above you. Pretty cool

This is more of a closeup compared to the last shot. And it's almost like we're looking at the fish through a series of mirrors: There's a natural feeling of distortion here---even if there may be none---and that "tunnel" feeling again...and the varied light on the fish make them look like they're dreamt, or that this is a print as much as a photo. These aquarium shots play with our sense of reality, and feel as much shots of the imagination as of a real place. They have magic...this one does. And it feels like there's an invisible energy sucking them upwards to god-knows-where. An exotic and alluring shot.
