Description
Hey all, so how's everything going?
Added some stuff to a scene and that bumped the render time to somewhere close to 3 hours. That's kinda long for me.
Saw the other day that someone spent 10 hours on a render. O.M.G. Seems that's normal even when he's got this, I don't know, Ultron-Stark-level rig :-D.
Here's the thing that's probably gonna make me sound bad; I didn't really feel the result was worth it :-ppp.
I guess that's why I'll always be a mere hobbyist.
Anyhoo, sorry if you actually read through all that rant, you probably got too much time on your hands hehehe...so go render something...lol
Me hopes you likes :-D

Hehe I sometimes have to let things render overnight. As long as i remember to put enough coal in the back of the machine. Lovely pic tho; the composition and lighting a great.
randalthor2
Whoa, your machine runs on coal. Awesome! Mine's still running on 217 hamsters. Well, make that 216...

Pretty! I often use the Batchrender plugin from Dimension3D here at rendo, prepare some scenes and let them all running through the night one after the other. That way I have maximun time for the scene composing and in the night when I sleep the machine's got to work.

Sounds nifty! The thing is that I sometimes make adjustments to the composition after the full render lol. Yeah, it's slow I know, but sometimes even using the preview nvidia render doesn't show the flaws that I see after the full render. So it's like double the render time. But I will look it up coz it would help if I want to render scenes overnight, so thanks!

Always top quality and realism from you - no matter how long they take!

Just shows it's not how long it takes but what you do with it that matters! Beautiful work!

Look at it this way: when you are waiting for a render to complete (mine vary between 15 minutes and overnight, like probably most artist's pics) you have time to look what others, i.e. YOU, are doing. Again, a good job of yours, altough the bot in my mind is going to pat her on the back sooner or later. Think I am going to wait for this. Got time on my hand - waiting for a render to finish

I used to pull the occasional overnight but due to my weird workflow (see reply to Furnose's comment above), it's no longer viable. A pat on the back eh? Hmmmmmm....Sounds intriguing hehe, maybe if I'm brave enough to go through that 3 hours (or more) of rendering again

She is looking lovely ! Yup, anything more than 30 minutes of rendering at 4K is way too long, but sometimes we just let the render engine do what it pleases :) ! There are materials that can totally mess up the render engine. Thankfully it is a rare occurrence. I am waiting for the real time rendering cores to be enabled for the RTX by Octane. I think that will speed up renders by a fair bit.
