Your stark black space is as much a "character" in this shot as the tulip: It makes this a "presentation," like the tulip is posing for you in a photography studio. (Professional studio photographers will run around their subject again and again, to get as many angles as they can. This shot looks like one of those 'angles'.) The flame of the last shot is tamed, here; and you've created a more introspective flower shot, with orange-reds rather than red-reds, and a more quiet feeling. It almost looks like a big dessert. It's luscious and bold, and introspective at the same time. I've noticed that you've always been natural with blacks (and darks); you use them to isolate and 'present' the objects of your photography, as if putting them in a spotlight. This is almost like a huge piece of sensual fruit. A big bold "solo" shot showing yet another personality of a single flower...
