"Ah, there they are," Master Korgan informed his Padawan as they approached the three Jedi masters standing beside another of the small ponds that dotted the landscape of the gardens.  Peering ahead through the light morning haze, Xin saw Grand Master of the Jedi Order, Satele Shan along with Master Shareen Viran and Master Darius Windu, both high ranking members of the Jedi Council engaged in what appeared to be a thoughtful discussion.  Recalling her dream, Xin began to feel a little nervous and her mentor sensing the young woman's apprehension, spoke again, "calm yourself, Xin, everything will be fine... you'll see."

Turning to greet the new arrivals, Grand Master Satele addressed the pair, "good morning Master Korgan, Padawan Xin Quon.... such a beautiful day, are we ready to begin?"

With head still bowed in respect to the gathered masters, "if I may ask, Master Satele, begin what?" ,Xin meekly asked of her.

"Korgan didn't tell you?" , Master Satele responded to the young woman, then turning again to Korgan, "always one for a bit of drama, aren't you, my friend?  Very well, have it your way, shall we proceed?"

Moving to face his protégé, Korgan softly said, "Padawan Xin Quon, please kneel."  Obeying the request of the old Jedi, Xin knelt before the group as her master continued, "it is days such as this that brings sorrow to every Jedi Master.  But the Force provides balance, it is also a day that brings us great joy."  Reaching down to take her hand in his, Korgan spoke once more, "from this moment forward, you are no longer my Padawan.  Rise and take your place among us, Jedi Xin Quon, Knight of the Republic.  May the Force be always with you."

As Xin took hold of her now former master's hand and rose to her feet, she could not help but smile at him with happiness, respect and love for the man that had rescued her eight years ago from the slums of Corusant.  Gazing into his eyes, Xin said to the assembled group, "I can only hope I can fulfill the honor you all have bestowed upon me this day," then placing her hand upon Korgan's chest, spoke in a solemn tone, "though I no longer carry the title, I will always look to you for guidance and be your Padawan in my heart.  There aren't words to express my feelings properly to you, my dear friend and mentor,  but from the very fiber of my being... thank you, for everything.  May the Force be with you."

As all the gathered masters welcomed the newest member of the order and the meeting concluded, Grand Master Satele spoke, "Korgan, I believe you have preparations to make and bid you farewell until later," then turning to Xin, continued, "and now, if you'll follow me young Jedi, we need to discuss the details of your first assignment..."
