Now as artists, we all love praises on our work, I know I do! However, to truly improve with our skills, we need to sometimes hear the things we may not care to hear.
There are those that take critical comments as a personal attack or insult... ... ... I am NOT one of those people. I wish to thank mmitchell_houston and skyvendik for the open and candid opinions on my image, their honesty has inspired me to improve my skills and strive to do better in the future.
In the revamp I made a few changes, as you may notice, from the previous version. I added a spotlight from Sickleyield's Easy Shadows Iray collection (over at DAZ3D) and a low intensity off-white backlight of my own. I also killed the camera's DOF to give a scene of being in the woods on a mission. I hope you all like it, but remember, I'm a big girl and can take criticism... and of course I welcome any advise you may have to share. Thank you all for dropping by!
So now, without further ado (cue drum roll), I present the hopefully new and improved version of my soldier girl.

Yes .. now is what I wanted to see, she is in the forrest, where are shadows from trees and severe beams among the branches touch her .. good work now!

Thank you Skyvendik!

Very cool scene!

WOW! The scene and the lighting on that render!
I, too, learn from the experts on here .. they don't just gripe -- they say, hey!, try this or that or remember that this happens when you do that .. THAT is how we learn! ..

Thank you, sir.

Much better this time around!
Wonderful remake.

I would say both images work on its own. You are using a photo background and that makes things hard, special to blend in shadow. But you did good here. Another way to add the tree shadow would be to just put a tree prop outside of the camera view and a light behind it to create the shadows on her.

Thanks for the tip, Rajib.
Always appreciate the help I get from ya'll.

After viewing both versions, I mist say that this is the better of the two, excellent remake.
By the way, also like how she's using the military 'knife hand' to point the direction of attention to her troops. It's attention to the small details like this that makes your images seem more in character.
