Nice realism in this image Barb. Love what you've done here.

Excellent work on this great, fun scene. Seems like lots of pay to play going on these days ::) Not to sure I'd buy wine from them though...

Lol, I love this! I don't remember which quote I said re people, but whatever it was, I'm glad I did, because I love this piece! This is a couple as hard core and weathered as they get----love the guy with his big belly, that wine stained shirt (maybe he's a butcher too---could be blood), that great mustache, and gaze like he's having a good time but will pummel you with a wine press if you don't pay his wife. (And great hairy arms!) Love the woman who looks like she could take on a team of Sumo wrestlers, with a great open hand (love the angle and positioning of her hand---foreshortening, I think), and that look like "pay up or else!" And you 've got some gizmo on the sill---it must have to do with wine, but it looks alive and crawling. This is an old sooty room, where they've probably made wine for 15 generations, and where they've been doin' it so long, they don't take s___ from nobody. I have no idea how you do this---how you compose pieces like this, manipulate them and transform their elements, and come up with a scene; but you're so good at it, and this is another example of how many types of expression you get. Somehow these two seem like they're in Europe rather than the states, I would be way surprised if they said, "Hi y'all !" I'm expecting the lady to yell, "bastardo!" and come at me with a heavy broom. Lots of fun, and your light is perfect, like they have bulbs they haven't changed since WWII. Glad I could add some inspiration for a romp like this. Terrific, Barb, a riot.

A fine looking pair. There's truth in that though, you do have to pay in advance when you're buying an aging barrel.

Haha ! excellent and funny. The guy makes me think of a wine maker in the RhΓ΄ne Valley, a guy who makes wonderful Cornas (red wine)...but his wife (partner ?) makes me think of another friend/wine maker's wife...a bit penny pincher...the one who says "payment in advance"...just in case ! A big bravo...I'll have a glass of Cornas at your health !

Ha reminds me of an old couple in Rent Control apt. in NYC telling the owner who wants Gentrification to bugger off 20 years left on the lease sonny.
