Description

Rejected by her mother’s kin, and with no knowledge of her father, Keya had been forced to seek acceptance elsewhere, but never found it in either her own home or with the traditional elven Seldarine. Though, she did with Sune’s faithful, who welcomed her with open arms and open hearts; seeing in her a rare and charming beauty even before it became physically appearant, and helping to coltivate her talents as a bard, which in turn earned her a measure of respect, if not welcome, from both her family and the elven community. However, since venturing out on her own, she found far more tolerance amongst the Dalesmen. She’d known Mykal since childhood; two unwanted mograls all but cast out of their unloving homes, they had naturally gravitated to each other, and she’d taking up with the handsome, but often solitary, young woodsman on more than a few occations. However, his affinity for the wild never truly meshed with her pursuit of ancient lore, new songs and tales of daring-do, but that didn’t prevent them from finding solace in their shared condemnation, or enjoying each other’s company, although it ment that most of their dalliances were tantalizingly short. They’d spent nearly the whole season the previous year braving the ruins of Myth Drannor, then wintered together at her mother’s boarding house, much to her displeasure, but parted company early in the spring when he set off to pursue reports of drow encampments in the Elven Court, while she headed to the famous Fall of Stars festhall in Harrowdale. She’d heard murmerings amongst her mother’s staff this morning that he had return to Tangled Trees in the company of a half-drow, whoes presence didn’t sit well with most of the locals, but hadn’t expected his new companion to be quite so alluring, especially in light of the unkempt appearance discribed by those who had encountered them the pervious night. “I have to admit… you cleaned up well,” Keya teased with a capricious grin as she eyed Myst, plucking the tankard from Mykal’s hand and taking a deep draw of the sweet, firmented liquid. “My mother’s staff described you as a rag-a-muffen when you arrived last night.” “Nothing a bath and some new cloths couldn’t fix,” Mykal grinned wolfishly, as he took back his tankard. “Escaped slaves and thieves don’t get to choose what they wear… at least not in Maerimydra,” Myst bemoaned, taking a long draw on her own mead. “I was lucky to scavange what I did when I escaped that hell… and the path to the surface isn’t exactly paved with rose pettles.” “What do you know of roses?” Keya taunted with a sly grin, fairly certain that such folage didn’t grow so deep in the underdark. “My mother was from Mistledale… taken as a young woman in a raid. She spoke of growing them since childhood and claimed they were the most beautiful of all flowers,” Myst sighed wistfully, then turned smoldering eyes toward the alluring minstrel with a wicked grin and added; “but that they have wicked thorns!” “Don’t we all,” Keya purred with a capricious smirk, as she scratched the air between her and the sensual half-drow in a seductive gesture.
