Description

"Robbing Pirates, that's a new one," Penyangak Ratu said with a pleased but somewhat slurred tone. They had been drinking since the had successfully handed the badly needed supplies off to the colonist on Eridge III. To the colonists, they were heroes, bringing the much needed supplies that would have been lost to the pirates. "I told you, we could get the Diadem of the Faerie Queen without being accused of a crime.," Paul Wake said, infinitely pleased with himself. Paul was what could best be called a hustler, looking for unconventional ways to make a score. He had a talent for fast talk, theft, drinking, lust and improvisation. It was during scoping out the cargo ship that he bedded the pirate's inside man who would arrange for his people to take over the ship. It was there that he learned of the attack through some clever application of words, drink and other skills that he devised a counter plan. "I can't believe you pre sabotaged the cargo ship so that the pirate attack would force the crew to abandon ship for their safety against it possibly exploding," Maric said confirming the credit transfer from their numbered account into cleaner accounts for spending. He took a swig of his rum. "We're in the clear, The pirates got the blame for the attack, the ship was left derelict, so any one could have stolen the diadem and other valuables, we rescued the crew, and Ratu and I played the role of pirate busters to retrieve the supplies the colonist needed." "At the cargo ship crew's request, no lawmen breathing down our necks, we're heroes, and we still had the thrill of the heist," Paul smiled, and lounged in the captain's seat, the ship had been the only useful gift from his dad, His dad like him was a clever hustler, who liked to travel in style, which was most why of the ship's interior had been designed to look like a Italian villa and courtyard,..because style. "I have to hand it to you when I first met you, I thought you were a hormonal degenerate whose idea of a caper was a snatch and grab," Ratu remarked. "And now, you think I am the master of my craft." "I wouldn't go that far, you're still a hormonal degenerate but you can make a crazy scheme work, and I admire that."
