Description

This was from an old montage, and I tweaked and fooled with it, and made it a new piece...so I decided to post it. Just a summer post... ------------ Some of you have posted complaints. Please allow me to post one as well... As with many 2D and photography friends, comments on my work have gone from 20-30 in the beginning, to 5-10 now. Some days, just 6...I know that you, my core fans, give your all to me, and you make all the difference in the world: This isn't about any of you. But, with many artists leaving permanently, and others losing interest in non-render work, our audience gets smaller and smaller. It's just frustrating for us, is all... Further, I know that I only comment 2 weeks out of 4 (or 5): So I'm not the best person to complain: I get that. But I try to make up for lost time whenever I'm here, via the hours I spend in your galleries, which I hope makes up for some of my absences. I just feel the site has become less interested in non-render art, period. And then, ebots don't get to all my fans---grrrrrrrrr!---and that's the site's fault: And that really irks me. So much effort for an upload, and some of you don't even know it's up... Well that's it: You---my core fans---you keep me coming back again and again; and I've been very grateful for your love, inspiration, and your art; and I'll always feel that way. And I haven't left RR, and I don't plan to: This isn't a 'goodbye' post. (Not at all!) Just a complaint with the site in general.... Thank you for your visits, and have a terrific day! Take care, Mark ------------------

I love how you've double framed this image. the colors and patterns catch the eye, which is a good thing because having one's eye flying around can be messy and catches all sorts of bugs and dust, hence the history of the word, floaters.

I'm not sure what is going on either with the galleries. and it also appears that the number of people posting images of any sort is falling off.

Have a safe 4th of July.

I love the bright, happy colors. The layers and bits and pieces look like decoupage. The flowers are a pretty centerpiece and they almost dance in the center frame.

I don't trust ebots, I use the activity tab to find new posts. I sure do miss the people who used to post here.

That's a cool piece. You could make some prints and hang that as fine art.

I want to wake up in that city That never sleeps And find I'm king of the hill, Top of the list Head of the heap King of the hill,

These are little town blues They have all melted away, I am about to make a brand new start of it Right there in old New York,

And you bet [Incomprehensible] baby If I can make it there You know, I'm gonna make it just about anywhere, Come on, come through New York, New York, New York. That completes my salute to New York, thank you, Frank Sinatra. Love the lavender masterpiece you created here with the rectangular inset, Mark. The flowers project a deep hue of bright colors. As for not receiving the comments you used to receive, then welcome to the club, my friend. Things for me are so frustrating that I feel fully gratified when I can get three comments and overwhelmed when I even get nine comments. Photography on Renderosity is on a death spiral, considering that many of the foto artists have left the fold. There are lots of other places to feature their photos: flickr, Deviant Art, and even Facebook, to mention just a few. Facebook has several groups featuring beginners to professionals on their site. So, alas, Renderosity is now mostly for the Poser, Daz crowd. Glad you'll still be with us despite the disheartening and meager situation.

I fully understand not having time---I'm absent from RR half of each month if not more---I just mean when people just stop coming by, period...You feel like there are only 4 or 5 people who care anymore, and that's depressing. (FTR, I expect small response to my writing, since it takes lots of time to read.) Also, short comments are great: your comments are always from the heart, Richard, and I greatly appreciate them. I just feel, today, that I'm being seen by 5 or 6 people, and I fear it'll go down to 2 or 3 in a few months. (Am I that uninteresting, I think...) But I fully accept that life takes up our time...

I for one really love all that you post here, Mark - images or writing. This one is so full of color and life - it's a wonderful image, and you can't help but feel happy inside when viewing this.

You are one of the points of light still here, Mark. Your comments are so insightful and it's easy to tell that you truly LOOK at the images, and even see things I don't see in my work.

Indeed, it seems that images outside of the 3D/CG realm have less importance than they used to. I'm sure that's a big part of what drove Tara away from the site. I know there are a number of sties devoted mainly to photography, and I've even tried Flickr, but found it's interface to be clunky and overly complicated.

I know it's discouraging to put a lot of work into an image, and have so little response to it. I feel fortunate to get the comments I do. I post on both Fantasy Attic and Deviant Art every now and then, but rarely get more than 3 or 4 comments either place. So I post mostly here.

Anyway, you are one of the kindest and most supportive folks around, and I do hope you hang in there with us, brother! It wouldn't be the same without you!

This is very beautiful Mark. The composition is great. Love the richness of the colors and the transparent area's. Hey Mark you deserve a ton of comments. I can't thank you enough for your many in depth comments and I'm sure everybody else feels the same way. I enjoy your writings and artwork very much. I am going to make a effort to comment more. It is what makes the Renderosity world go around.
