Description

Here’s a fun image I created for one of the Photoshop Daily Challenges last month. This is Jenny’s (Pixeluna) Little Patch Girl playing the lead role. I created the Holocron in Photoshop, and composited it into the image. Speaking of Photoshop…. Things are still nothing but fun (NOT) here. Today I attempted to get my Wacom Cintique 22HD connected to the Powerspec machine with the RTX2080Ti. The Cintique has a DVI-D connector and the RTX2080 has only Display Port connectors. I bought an adapter at Microcenter that was supposed to work. It appeared to do so – for a while. After an hour or so of fighting and fiddling to get the Cintique and second monitor set up correctly, I started up Photoshop to test the pressure sensitivity when using brushes, etc. I painted one stroke – and then… The Cintique went completely black. The power button now has absolutely no effect whether the Cintique is connected or not. It won’t power off at all. The only way I can power it off is by unplugging the power supply. I’m not sure what happened, but it looks like my $2000 Cintique is now dead. I’ve contacted Wacom, so we’ll see what happens next – they’re pretty good about getting back with me in a day or so. But… I’m starting to get to a point where I’m just ready to walk away from everything – at least for a while. Seems like I spend more time solving problems than I do actually enjoying the creative process. It’s just not fun anymore… I do still have the laptop with Photoshop and a Wacom Intuous tablet (I used it to paint the bottom of Ar’s dress) so no, I’m not giving up. At least not yet. I’m still working on the T.N.A. story in between all these F%$^$$-ing issues. But – again – it might take a while. Thanks for “listening..” Facebook Twitter Girls From T.N.A. Tablets are incredibly fussy. I have had far better luck with the cheapest ones than the "good" ones; the cheap ones seem sturdier and more able to go from program to program. But yes, sometimes you just need to change media for a while to get back into the fun part of it. This is a kickass image of the Lil'Patch girl!

Looks like you had fun playing with textures in this scene. Fantabulous work, Rod.8 hours of manager today and 8 hours tomorrow. Can we say fun? (not)

The light on her cool face is done well. Her outfit is fabulous, she's the best dressed alien bot I've seen!

Good luck with the repairs!

a big open eye popping poster---I love the deep neon lighting, and that you placed this model in a big open court in front of a high rise (I assume)...deep night mystery, and we don't know what could happen...Her saber casts an unreal neon red over everything, and you've constructed and clothed her in great variety---even cowboy-looking boots with all kinds of medieval metal work! I can't imagine what it's like to do these kinds of images: She's so complex and strange and beautiful...

your print suits the hues of the piece (you and steve have a second sense for that), and you have fine print again---only this one (I think) is all movie names (I looked! I looked for some hidden references, puns, jokes, etc, but I think this is straight from the film...) Another fine poster from you. Love what you're doing with film images these days! (Good luck with the wacom/computer scene: Wacoms are sensitive beasts, and really, someone should sit them down and tell them to lighten up...I've been there, with the little fuss-budgets...I wish you all the best with it and everything else, Rod. The check from the sky is long overdue, you and Jo deserve your refund check very, very soon...)

Impressive work Rod. It's fun to let one's hair down and let the muse just go to work.

So sorry about your hardware problems. Mine are still vexing too. Part of the reason I"m posting a lot of photos right now.

Oh boy, looks like the bad streak is not letting go of you Rod. Not good. Fingers crossed that your luck will change soon. No one will be happy creating artwork with what you have been facing. And yet still, what you have created here is beautifully done. I like how you have done the lighting here specially the glow / bloom from the light sabre and the mysterious box. You continue to inspire me to take a deep dive into Photoshop. Wonderful work as always Rod ! And I hope the Cintiq can be fixed. It is an expensive investment.
