Thanks for looking! This is the last mermaid scene... for a while. Mermaids are fun.

As many a fisherman's tale begins... "You should have seen the one that got away!"
I never had anything this lovely try to get into my boat back in the day... All I got were snakes, a few perch, and the odd turtle or two..😆
Beautiful work, my friend!

Hope it's not the last one, the story is just getting interesting! I think the poor fisherman is done for, just look at those evil eyes, lol. A cool series with this cute queen of the sea...

i'll be sorry to see this series go, but of course we must move on...this is so exotic and suggestive...you really pack things into your images...the mermaid has this olive-yellow tone to her, almost like an old doll, from the 30s and 40s, with those ceramic faces. And you punctuate it with tiny stars/flares, with a top made of beads and shells and what looks like fishnet (for the sea)...you have that amazing headgear---what, octopus tentacles as locks, and in a strong purple, which makes such contrast with her olive-yellow skin tone (they're almost complementary colors, the most contrasted of all colors), and a gaze like a goddess who has some deep plans we don't know about yet, she's almost daring us...And then her lower half which looks almost like ceramic...and a boat with purple in its browns, and what looks like a small carpet (if that's what it is!), and a pinkish hued water surface with bulrushes and dragonflies, etc. (You have at least one d.fly on the boat too.) An entirely suggestive stare and pose: the whole image is like an apparition turned flesh, floating into our world, perhaps to float out again. Very creative, Barb, with mystery, strangeness and beauty, she's beckoning us to we-know-not-what. Your fantasies go far beyond the predictable, and they suggest so many worlds beyond words. Mystifying, magical, amazing art...
