Description
Not long to the 1th of September, the day when ww2 began, 80 years ago. It's time to remember. This picture shows an German airfield in the dusk before the war. The aircraft are prepared and wait for action. In the morning of 1th September at 5:45 (for Americans 5.45 pm) 1939 the war began. In the night the Army and Luftwaffe prepared for action to be ready at 5:54.

Great depiction of a very dark day in history.

Creepy! How much death, pain and sorrow followed after this day? It makes really sad.
Very impressive render! Historical question: did they already have the D version of the Junkers Ju 87 at the outbreak of the war? I believe it was rather the Ju87-B1 which can be distinguished from the D by the bigger cooler unter the nose. How ever this is just a detail

You are right. I changed the Stuka with the B version. Now it's correct. :-)

Very nice. I like the subtle lighting very much. (There is just a little bit too much sky I think, but that is just a composition critique.)

Already lined up to go against Gloster Gladiator biplanes - super recreation of the "calm before the storm"
