Description
The Second World War began with the aerial attack on the city of Wieluń in Poland at 04.45 1th of September 1939 with the first light of the day. Some witness reports the beginning of bombing at 04.37. Hitler declared the war at 05.45 on a speech in the radio. Historians are puzzling why the city of Wieluń was selected for the first aerial attack. Some historians believe it was for testing the new B version of the Stuka. Others believe because there was a Polish division near the city and the city was attacked by mistake.
