Description
Sometimes I really think I must be cursed by god.
Today I came home and found my beloved 3 year old Tomcat "Helios" dead and bleeding out of his mouth in my front yard. He obviously must have been hit by a car in our street which ironically is a dead end street and there fore don't has much traffic. It was again blank horror and all the memories from the accident my Siamese "Lucy" had came up. Dammit, dammit, dammit! Why must this happen to me again? Why him? Helios was my most beloved Tomcat and he was born 3 days before my beloved Felix went over the Rainbowbridge. He was the first to be born from my Longhair Siamese "Cora" and was one of three. He became a special cat even as kitten, since he was differently than all the other from that litter. Later he showed to be the perfect successor for Felix, since he talked same as Felix, he was cuddly and dear as Felix was and he had a similar funny character as Felix had. He awakened us every weekend with his wet nose and a lovely quiet meow! In the evening when I stepped into the garden and called him he came running as fast as his loving paws could carry him. Since he was half Siamese, he had an extraordinary fluffy fur. He could show his affection to us in such a special way and was just awesome in every aspect.
Now I sit here, tears in my eyes, sad and crying in a way I could permanently throw up. It hurts like hell to have lost him this way and so soon. I'm just devastated. This evening I put him in a wooden box and buried him in my garden after a last an hurtful kiss. This is now the fourth Cat I lost much too early and in a abnormal way (Illness or brute force). I don't understand what this all shall be good for! Everything seems to be against me at time being.
Appendix (four days later):
I talked to many people about this tragedy and the fact, that Helios lost a tremendous amount of blood indicates more and more, that Helios was not overrun, but poisoned with some rat poison. Since there are about no rats in this vicinity (and Helios never went very far), I have to face the prospect, that there is a cat hater around in our vicinity and that our other Cats are in danger too...
Tomorrow I will warn the pet owners in our Neighborhood and report this to the police. Killing a cat with rat poison is an offense and will be prosecuted in my country.
Appendix (one month later):
I had to go to the Vet with one of my other cats for the annual vaccination. At the Vet I took the chance to chat with the doctor about the sudden death of Helios. I showed him photos of the dead body and expressed my suspection of Helios being poisoned. He looked at the Photos and said, that he don't believes he was poisoned. This is because in case of poisoning the animal bleeds from all body orifices, but Helios only bleeds from the snout. He also said that the broken claws (front and back) were actually a clear indication that he was thrown away from the ground with great force - so he was hit! When I asked him how it could happen that he was bleeding so badly, he said that it was quite possible that he had been hit so badly in the chest area that he had suffered great internal injuries and then it could be that he was bleeding from his muzzle. He also said that in his whole career (he is only a few years away from retirement) he only had a few cases of poisoning in cats, because - unlike dogs - they don't just eat everything. All this doesn't make my Helios alive again, but it helps so much to calm down that I don't have to worry about finding the next one of my cats poisoned soon. What I find disturbing, however, is that a cat can be hit in a quiet little cul-de-sac in a residential area. How must this driver have raced through the street? Helios couldn't have run home in such a collision. So he was hit at the height of our house and then by the affected driver simply put us in the front garden. But he (or she) should have contacted us (that's the law), but the affected person obviously just escaped. This is my current and probably last state of affairs on the Helios case...

My most sincere condolences! I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

Aw, man, this is just so sad, my friend! My sincerest condolences in the loss of your loving family member. Losing a cat or dog is every bit as painful as losing any other member of the family. May peace and healing find you soon, my friend.

Losing a friend is never easy. My mother's cats died of old age - apart from her Siamese who was hit by a car. And over my fifty-odd years of marriage I have buried 5, who went for various reasons -and they all live on in my mind. Your Helios is a very beautiful cat. He'll be waiting with your other cats in the cat hereafter, watched over by the Goddess Bast.

Every pet owner knows the bond and the pain when that little spirit is gone. You're not cursed, it's just the way life goes. When my daughter was young she wanted a kitten. The first one got hit by a car, the second one killed by a dog. My heart broke to see her crying for her friends. With time and some TLC we're fine and you will be too...

My poor friend, I pity you and offer you my deepest condolences. Helios went to cat heaven, he was beautiful and far too young to leave you. Good luck to you

I'm so sorry for your loss. Living with animals also means that one often has to say goodbye far too early, it always hurts so much. but i love animals and would never want to miss them in my life .

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Once again a completely unnecessary death of an irreplaceable Darling ... I feel with you!

Thanks for your compassion! Yeah, and it is the second Cat I lost this way and the fourth I buried in 8 years. All four died prematurely due to unnormal circumstances…! Boy, I‘m sooo fed up of this!

Broke my heart to read about your beloved fur baby. I know the hurt you feel. Now, I only keep my cats indoors except I had my patio wired in so they have a safe outdoor environment. There is just too much danger for our gentle cat with, dogs, wild animals & also mean humans so I have to keep my babies safe they are my family & my lifeline since my husband passed two years ago after 54 years of marriage
