Description
A Supermarine Walrus optimistically scans an angry sea looking for possible survivors from a downed Beaufighter.
The Walrus, "Shagbat", or "Steam-Pigeon", was a single engine amphibious flying boat designed to catapult from British warships and deploy as "eyes in the sky" for the fleet vessels. The Walrus carried a crew of 3 or 4, depending on the mission. It was a pusher design to keep water spray behind the cockpit area with a four blade prop to compensate for it's design-mandated small size, and was equipped with retractable landing gear. Besides its main designation as a spotter craft for battleships and cruisers, the Walrus was used extensively for search and rescue operations.
Supermarine Walrus: very fine model by Baz with a bit of texture wear added.
Crew: G3 male with heavy flight suits for cold weather from adh3d
Beafighter by Neil Wilson.
Models prepped in PoserPro and DazStudio; composed, lighting, some texture modifications, and rendered in Vue6Infinite; finished in Ps Cs3.
