Love the lighting. His pose and expression really show the bewilderment of surroundings. Seeing a caveman with a creature like this reminds of the cartoon Primal.

I really like your imagination! The guy has a great quizzical look, as if this was the first time he ever saw such huge trees. (Actually, I've seen huge trees, and I'd still be amazed if I were standing in this shadowy majestic forest.) Love his expression. And his muscles and compact build. And that beast---what a great old turtle-y thing! Love that parrot's 'beak' on a turtle's head, and the low eyes, and all those bones sticking out. So the guy's taking his pet for a walk? ("Wanna go for a walk???" "YES!!!!!") And they're nestled into the walls of a deep primal forest, all tinted in early morning blues...love it. Wonderful work.
