Description
The Abomination
The doctor peered out his loft’s window. He had seen too much cruelty and evil in this world. The war in Romania had torn his family apart and he had nowhere to go but to England. At least, there were no beasts here that would rip a human apart.
He snickered at himself. As a surgeon, he often operated on people. In some cultures, he was probably considered a monster. The doctor glanced at his pocket watch. The men should be here at any moment. The last specimen the doctor needed to complete the year-long project.
The doctor walked over to his operating table. The corpse resting on the table would be alive in a short while and all of his dreams of a perfect human will have come to light. Some would call him an abomination of God’s word, but the doctor didn’t care. He was the creator. The creator of something good and pure without the constraints of growing up human. He will teach his creation how to be good and kind.
It was late when the men arrived with the last items the doctor needed. The doctor worked through the night and with his final stitch breathed a sigh of relief. He was finally done. In the background, the rumblings of a thunderstorm grew louder. He had to be quick or he’d miss his opportunity. The doctor hooked up all the electrodes to the corpse and waited patiently by the switch. A bolt of lightning hitting the rod was all he needed.
A bright light filled the room. The walls rumbled. The doctor threw the switch.
The abomination rose screaming an unearthly cry.
And, when the creature’s eyes gazed at the creator, the doctor knew he had made a horrible mistake.
