Description
The Wife
The abomination tore the casket from the ground and threw it in front of the doctor. He pointed and grunted.
The doctor staggered back a few steps. He knew what the monster meant. He peered at the broken casket and the young girl’s lifeless face that seemed so peaceful and pure. “I can’t.”
“Yes,” the monster strained.
“I will not.” The doctor turned and walked.
The abomination hurled toward the doctor, grabbed his shoulder and tossed him to the casket. “Make.”
“You don’t understand.” The doctor stayed on the ground figuring it was safer than standing. “I made a mistake when I created you. I cannot create another.”
The abomination grabbed the doctor’s face and stared directly into his eyes. There, the doctor saw the anguish and pain he had caused this beast by bringing it to life. He will be forever alone on this earth and being newly married, the doctor realized he couldn’t hurt another creature on this planet.
The abomination’s fingers dug deeper into the doctor’s skin. “Make.”
Thoughts of his wife waking up and finding him gone rushed into his mind. “Will you leave me alone if I do this?”
The monster tilted his head to the side as though he contemplated the words then nodded. “Make.”
“Okay.”
The abomination released the doctor and pulled him to his feet with one hand.
The doctor vomited. His soul squirmed inside of him. “Bring her to my lab. I’ll be there in the morning.” He stepped away from the monster assuming he would lash out at him again.
Instead, the abomination lifted the girl from the casket with such gentleness that the doctor was astonished. He watched as the two disappeared into the darkness.
He prayed that this would be the one thing to rid him of the beast for the rest of his life.

Thank you. I'm trying to get used to writing short stories for the pieces so that I can separate from writing regular novels to graphic novels.
