There are no displacements on this world. I am plotting ideas for a fly-through animation...

Cool lava flow...........Will there be steam?

Steam! It is an idea that has crossed my brain.
But, I have no idea how I might do that without converting the entire world to volumetric, at least not globally. I have an idea or three for crappy local effects. I'm more likely to simply pulse the lava glow while I fly around.
Maybe think about a time-lapse actually moving land, but not sure about how to realistically combine it w/ the actual lava glow.

We're down in the flats. Only about a quarter of the total population of my county has their power out. They are all the people who live in the foothills and mountains. I hope folks are doing OK out there!
See my comments in my reply to Al about animation ideas. I haven't actually wired anything up yet, as I'm still tweaking on the planet and its materials. It's a derivative of the planet used for The Dela Trip animation.

Very good. I experimented with a lava planet back in the day with planet Chanda.

Ref Steam.... change the atmos to Vol and create a cloud form where the lava flow is based on its Surface Pos ?!...needs some scrorched earth before it hits the greenery...IMHO ;-)
