Description

Hi This strange image is real: We had an freezing storm, it froze, and everything turned to ice. (The lower 2/3 of this picture is LAND, not water! Welcome to the Midwest...) Lake Michigan, 2012. (a 2 MP camera) ------------ I'm a bit burnt out at present...but I'll be back in a couple of days. Thanks as always for your wonderful visits! Take care, m (better zoomed) ------------------

Sorry I'm late my friend, too much going on and this one slipped my mind. Was this taken with a filter to get this tone or a manip from original?

Been mighty cold here last few days, slightly warmer today. Does look frigid cold on mighty lake Michigan. Great captures and view of the city Mark. From your POV, almost looks like your standing in the water for this capture. Take care man, I know burnt, he's and irritating person to me.

That sure defines the words frozen solid. It's very cool but wow, super dangerous, too. The red tint to this adds a bit of warmth but nothing is melting and it creates a really weird contradiction that makes this a neat image. A wild photo that shows the forces of nature.

Take care, Mark. Rest and relax because nothing is more important than your health.

Man, I love this! It looks for all the world like the lake has overflowed, and is swirling around the trees and bits of land. This is an amazing shot, Mark! I'm just glad it was you out there freezing and not me! I'm nt ready for that stuff yet!

Seriously gorgeous photo, buddy!

I think I recall this photo but during the winter when it was all white and covered in snow and ice. Thanks for the two reviews on my stories, they were really detailed and appreciated.

What an intriguing photo, Mark. The red-brown color is so special, just like the reflections. It creates a kind of medieval atmosphere, and reminds me of a place here near us on the banks of the river De Maas. There are tree remains of 4000 years old, see the link. http://www.debelemniet.nl/itemMaasNederland2.html

But here on your shot it are the high buildings, and not the trees, but the mood is what me remind me of it. Please take your time, dear friend, wishing you a lovely, warm and relaxing weekend.

stunning freeze in fall! I remember very hot days in this town, incredible how fast it turns frosty! the toning in this is beautiful and I like very much the silhouette of the city! Hope you will have some warmer days before winter is there...

Love the highly textured reflections and virtual silhouetting in this root beer-like capture of frigid Lake Michigan and Chicago buildings lining the shore, Mark.

Ice has its own unique beauty that is rarely replicated anywhere else and this photo shows that effect. Time can be frozen if you know how.
