This is Frankie. She’s a beautiful veiled chameleon and I love her very much! (Taken with iPhone pro 11) I need to explain so you will not wonder why the heck a chameleon will start showing up in my renders/art/promo images! Lol! Now I have many times used animals in my art and promos such as mainly cats because I have 4 cats (2 outside that belonged to my daughter before she died) and 2 inside (recent rescues one still being bottle fed 2xs a day!) also sometimes I have used the daz big cat or other animals like unicorn or horses and even insects and dinosaurs (I LOVE dinos) So anyway a week and a half ago maybe 2 weeks my husband found an abandoned kitten roughly 2 weeks old, black and white tuxedo pattern with white paws - she’s super cute and I’ve been bottle feeding her and now trying to slowly wean her into cat food. ANYWAY! This required a trip to the pet store to get the KMR milk for kitty. And would you know I always walk by the reptiles because I adore them... and I’ve been looking into getting a ball python in the range of orange dream colors... but here was this beautiful chameleon and I was captivated!! Totally fell in love at first site. But I couldn’t bring her home that day (I really wanted to but I just couldn’t) so I went home and I’ve thought about her ever since... Well this past Sunday I decided I would go visit the chameleon in the pet store and see how she was doing. I thought if she’s still there then perhaps....perhaps I shall take her home and give her a better life in a better enclosure on a better diet here in my office... So yes, she was still there! I verified with the girl who cleaned her tank and fed her that no chams had been sold recently and she said no that it had been about a month since they sold one and they only had the 1 so she said yes it was the same one as the week before. I got to hold her and she was so friendly and sweet!!! When I first got there she was quite unhappy and clawing at the glass :( they prefer mesh/screen homes not glass. She had crickets but wasn’t eating them :( I felt so sad for her and she is so sweet how could I let her live there? Well I couldn’t that’s the answer to that!!!!! LOL so I took her home I got a good $50 bucks off the Cham screen enclosure kit and off we went! Me and my younger son put the cage together and my husband did the light kit. Then we decorated it and went outside to find lots of nice twigs and branches for her as well as stones and rocks. I named her Frankie. I adore her. She’s now very happy and eating so well even eating her the fresh Cham salad I make for her every day. She loves dandelion flowers and leaves and she will eat right out of your hand :) So when you see a chameleon pop up in my promos renders and art now you know why! :) ...and pls no offense but I don’t need to be told what to do I’ve already spent many hours researching and feel I am doing what is right and best for her and her care and diet it is the same thing I do for any animal that comes into my care and she has been doing very well not like in the pet store. I’ve worked with animals almost my entire life thank you :)
